Default what is this? exits int mani

felt i had to start a thread because i keep asking in other threads with no response.

what is theis "valve" like thing?

it exits from behind the throttle body and wraps around the driverside of manifold into a valve-like thing. then a fuel hose is connected to it(which is cut on my engine)...

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y47.../fuelpiece.jpg

ive seen it vented, but the one on my 98 is cut cro-magnon style and im it might need to go to something important

thanks in advance

EVAP solenoid. If you are using the tank and evap system from the donor car you'll need it. Otherwise its not doing you any good. You'll want to get the evap functions tuned out of the PCM.

That is the Purge Valve, it will purge the Gas Flumes out of the Fuel Tank and is controled by the PCM. The hose go to the Fuel tank vent tube. EVAP system.

ok cool.

two options?:

1. remove and plug it (since it is tuned out of my pcm already)

2. remove it and run a hose from my fuel vapor line to the hole in the mani.

i think ill plug it and vent the fuel tank to atm

thank you greatly

I used the manifold port and fuel tank vent into a Charcoal Canister that will then suck the fuel from the Fuel tank. That way you will not get fuel flumes while parked inside.

Some of the later Mustangs have a very small Canister... you might be able to hide it on/under the frame near the rearend/fuel tank.

Try a search, I know this has been a subject a while ago and I think it was Stealth71 who posted pictures of a few of them.

We capped the barb, and our stainless tank is not vented. We capped the little fitting on the tank. The cap is vented. Everything seems to work fine, no fumes, and no weird hissing when we pull the gas cap.

Default Evap

I removed every bit of the entire EVAP system, not necessary at all.

GREEN is where i disconnected adn capped, for now.
BLUE is the hose that goes to the Evap Purge Valve.
RED is the Evap Purge Valve that i removed (tuned OUT of PCM).
YELLOW is where "MMDB" vented his Evap Purge Valve.

Courtesy MMDB, ls14 build thread.

the area between the header and the intake filter (kind of open area) Is where my S13 Charcoal Canister was. NOW its an atm-vented line.
