For my ls1/t56 swap into my 68 Camaro, 85% ls1tech.com, 14% camaros.net, 1% GM service manual for the 99 Camaro. That 14% was for pretty much everything non-LS1-related that I did during my swap that I needed extra info for.

Im in the early stages of a ls1 swap into car that is rare to the LS1 swap community. Finding information for it was hard.Internet was not much help so I hit the public library. They have a little jewel called the Mitchell database. All the info I needed was there. I also bought the service manual and they helped somewhat.
When I did my first swap, I got 95% of my info here.

Anytime I have a question...I consult either LS1tech search or S10forum search. So far I have had to ask VERY few questions as most of anything you can think of is found on the search on those 2 sites for an S series swap. If I have a problem thats not motor or truck related...like fabbing a bracket to hold the PCM...I do a general search on the internet to see how others mounted any PCM...and I get the ideas needed to make a solution to my unique problem

I opened this poll cause I was wondering were everyone was getting there LS1technical knowledge from. With many of the repeated questions, simple common sense answers, and the so called "Stupid" question. I have to wonder if why many of the Car people of today just isn't as knowlegable as they should be at times.
I myself have found this forum very usefull, but get much of my knowledge from reading magazine and searching the internet 1st.
I don't have any of the later model car Factory Manuals, but I have many from the 60's and 70's. (and some older ones too)
It seem from the poll that mag's are of the lesser read and used, I seem to be the odd ball there as I still read and get much knowledge from the good old mailed subscriptions. Much of my knowledge is old school and maybe outdated to some, I have been hod rodding since the mid/late 60's with Motocycle, Cars and 4x4's.
But much of the general knowledge and common sense stuff still seems to apply today and as they say, what is old is new !
just my old 2 cents...

I use all of the above. Usually I start by checking LS1Tech then I start googling, then out come the magazines, finally its off to the library praying that they have a manual for whatever combo I`m putting together at the time.
I do read a lot of magazines, but usually I try the net first even if I remember seeing the answer in one of them. Its usually easier to pull up the article online than to remember if it was in CHP, CC, hot rod, etc let alone what month.
I find a lot of info in them, and the mags can give you helpful ideas even iff they are from a different area of motorsports. This weekend I was looking for ideas/parts sources to build the rear suspension for my chevette. So I was digging through a friends 4x4 magazines as those guys build a lot of suspension components. Not only did I find couple of types of suspension joints that I am going to look into, but I also found an idea for cupholders for my car, and a place that makes a retractable license plate mount(the f-body guys near me have been looking for a front plate solution)
