Is it possible? yes. And, from what I udnerstand, fairly simple. You'll need the following for most of the conversion

bell housing, ls1 wiring harness and pcm, trans cross member, motormounts, input shaft, drive shaft and alot of other stuff I can't think of right now. Do a search, this has been done hundreds of times. If you have a more specific question, go ahead and ask...

9540 he is talking about using a 3.8 tranny on a ls1. Not putting the ls1 into the car. No that tranny will not work and it wouldnt handle the ls1 power even if you were to find a way to bolt it up

oh, my fault. I misread the post the first time.
That being said, no, the v6 tranny will be destroyed by the LS1 power. The end.

the 3.8 is a 60 degree and an ls needs a 90 degree pattern so no its not worth it. If they were both auto then all you would do is change the bell housing

The 3.8 is a 90 degree engine. The 3.4 is a 60 degree.

The 3.8L is a 90 deg, but it has a 60 degree bellhousing pattern on the mid 90`s and newer engines.
