Default New Guy

Hey everyone.
Just stumbled on here, great site! Wish I would have found it sooner. Lots of good info.

I have a 66 Corvette coupe with a Paul Newman conversion with 96 Vette suspension and 99 Camaro LS1/6 speed. It has been running about a month and has about 100 checkout miles on it so far. Everything is done except the interior and a few loose ends. I have a Phil Wyatt harness and Ed Wright did the PCM re-programming to get rid of the VATS stuff and all the other niggling code setters. I live in SoCal so it doesn't need to be smogged. I am running a check engine light which remains off except for ign on check. I have noticed it idles a little high(8/900) and the tach needle flutters a little. Do I need to do an idle relearn or some other trick to get the idle to 600 or so. Thanks in advance.
Nick

Welcome aboard!

The PCM idle is preset at 800 RPM when warm so unless you get LS1_Edit to change it to 600 RPM it won't idle at 600 RPM!

Is that 800 rpm in gear? I fire mine up in neutral and it runs about 1000 rpm cold. I have not driven it too far just yet and never noted the rpm when warmed up....still debugging everything. Should be taken its first voyage this weekend.

67 Camaro,
It idles about 1100 cold but settles to 800 after 20-30 seconds so I guess it's doing what it's supposed to. Yes, thats in neutral. Good luck with the first venture out of the garage!

Dale,
I have a ton of pics but haven't figured out how to post them, duh.

If you have some space on a server, just FTP the picture there and supply a link. Your ISP can help you with that. Here's and example.

circuitflex.com is a domain I bought for 10 bucks a year and it came with a hosting site that I use to store all my pictures. I use an FTP program called WS_FTP Pro. There are other ways. Some folks on here use a site just for photos. Maybe one of them can chime in and give some details.

Well gee that sounds easy now I know why I haven't done it yet. I hope it sounds more complicated than it is. I am better with cars than I am with computers.
Thanks,
Nick

Nick, if you just have one or two pictures to post, email them to me and I'll put them up for you. Email me at daleici@hotmail.com without the pictures and I'll give you my main address to send the pictures to. Then I'll give you a link that you can copy anywhere you like.
