Getting there...

Setting up the WB. Front will probably go another 1" forward from here.

Good idea of what it will look like from the front.

It'll be a couple inches wider when the front axle it put together.

Grill will sit just in front of the radiator hoop.

The rear fenders will be getting trimmed up approx 1 - 1.5", to even out the look of the front fenders.

As is sits right now:
106" wheel base , 23" clearance at skid plate , 78" at the highest point on the cage, with approx 7 -7.5" of uptravel.
We're going to shoot for 108, so the front and rear moved out one more inch.

Thanks

Here's my buddies JeepSpeed he just finished, just got to get it wrapped now.

Only one bad thing about doing that to an XJ...no frame!!! So tehhy basically plate up the unibody enough, and tie the cage all the way from the front to the back to give it any kind of real solid structure.

Yeah the Unibody can be a pain. Mine has stress cracks all over from flexing and having over 200k miles on it. Does pretty well on the trails. Im debating on getting rid of it and starting over. Your buddies looks good! Jeepspeed looks pretty fun. I like the rocks right now.

Here is mine...not tryin to hijack or anything...

Looks pretty much like that now...minus the KCs, and foglights. And I trimmed up the rear fenders since that pic.

Not hijacking when posting pics of another jeep!
Your XJ looks nice, the 2 doors look really clean.

I hear ya on the crawling thing, but I want to go fast too. So that's why Im going with the triples and coil-overs. Im hoping to get some decent speed out of my straight axled rig.

Haha I dont think acheiving speed is going to be a huge issue for you. haha. That rig should pull pretty nicely. And if you want more, just start modding that motor. Power and tq will jump pretty quick. Or you could always put a kenny bell on top or something!!

I daily drive my jeep, but if it ever becomes my trail only rig, its getting an LS motor. Should make it a TON more fun.

Guess what...this is my DD!!!!

We (wife and I) also have a Infiniti G 35 Coupe, but she drives that. We've been sharing since my jeeps been torn apart, but when it comes back, it'll see plenty of street time, well until the po-po get an my ***!!

As for power...Im already thinking some NOS would do the trick.

i think its funny how little of the original body is left after it was chopped up i like. sweet ride bro. Or it will be. Seems like it will weigh a lot with all of those beefed up parts.

Yeppers, pretty much just the tub, hood (and some of that is missing) and the windshield.

It should weigh in around 4300 or so, we're going to try and keep it below that around 4100-4200, but it's hard to do when you have to add so much heavy stuff to get it strong. And then all the electronics and storage for tools & camera gear.

Got some more pics for the front suspension going together, it's like Christmas every couple of days!

Of course a cross bar/brace will be added and run from one shock mount across the top to the other.

Tie in for the front fenders to grill hoop.
