Default Washing the LS1?

Well, I know that when I washed my 350 at a car wash, all I really needed to do is cover the distributor with plastic to be sure it would fire back up.

What about the LS1? Anythign to watch out for?

Try not to get water under the intake it will go into the knock sensor holes and rust out the knock sensors.

I just try not to aim the spray at any electrical connectors.......and so far that has been enough.

On the knock sensors, there was a technical service bulletin on them. The front one has a tendency to fill up even with just driving the car in the rain. The TSB said to pull the intake, dry them out and then RTV the caps in place as the rubber caps don`t seal well.

Thanks for the input. Now, I just need to do a little research to be sure I know where the knock sensors are.

Yup, that's it -- the rubber caps on the knock sensors don't seal for **** Other than that, wash away without much thought or care, these motors are more or less impervious.

Thanks. I remember that there.

Too had I didn't ask this question earlier, so I could have sealed that while the intake was off.

Don't get dad new socks or a grill brush this year.
