WHOOHOO !! My LS6 Mustang has PAINT !!
It only took 9 months, but my car is finally in paint! There was a bunch of hidden body work that had to be done (ie. uncovered previous repairs that weren't exactly stellar), and some parts hangups (new front bumper cover that was warped and the vendor wouldn't take it back) BUT it is almost ready to put the drivetrain back in and start driving her
Here's some photos:
It still has to be striped (putting a bright orange narrow stripe between the blue and black), wet sanded and buffed, and then the glass goes back in, lamps, etc. Then all the interior, and wiring, and oh yeah -- engine, transmission, etc. I need to buy the new wheels and tires now as well, get those ready... Oooh, gotta do the 5-lug conversion, all the new suspension parts, etc.
Man I'm EXCITED

Black 18's, chrome lip. I do have a set of draglites that'll fit as well
The color isn't a Ford blue, it's one of the 'Vette blues but I don't know it's full name. Very similar to PPG's "True Blue" though.

Sorry guys I don't have a paint code for the color. It was one of the many blues I had in my left overs.
I'll get it down to PPG and have them match it and see if it comes back as a stock color code from anything.
It's only a day away from being able to leave my shop though then the pard part of Brians work begins. It's been a pretty hard job getting this damn car to be as streight as it is now. It came to me with the expectation of being a quick job then the real work started. DPS/SSP or who ever had it painted and had the body work done took it to the wrong place thats for sure.
Here are a couple pictures from last week. All I have left to do it throw all the trim back on and the lights.
It has been wet sanded now with 1500/2000/3000 then hit with a compound, then a machine glaze then hand glaze.
