Great project, should be interesting.

What section tires can you fit on this?

Only beef is that I think you're foolish not to keep ABS (for aesthetic reasons no less) in a car this potent.

Only time I ever needed ABS was in the rain or snow.......this car would be worthless in either.

yes, more pics!

my thoughts exactly on the abs.. more pics will be coming soon, -forgot the camera today. i got the dash out of the car tonight. i will start cutting a little more to finish the firewall modifications then finish welding steel back in. the shifter is about 1.5 inches short right now and i may be able to get it in the right spot with some minor adjustments. will update tomorrow!!

some updates and pics;

removed the dash yesterday to cut some more material away and postition the engine further back in the engine bay, also relocated the under dash wire harness grommets for the wire tuck so the harness can be routed into the fender area instead of the engine bay

check out how close the engine mounts are to lining up, one simple bracket and you are done. not too sure on how the s2000 mounts would hold up though. im getting rid of the s2000 mounts and using the clamshell mount adapters with fabbed up pillars that should be here tomorrow.

here is what im working with as far as header space. stll going with a custom made 1 3/4 stepped to a 1 7/8 setup unless someone knows of better.

here are some misc. pics of firewall modifications so far, all being redone due to the engine being pushed back further.

misc pics;

ohhhhhhhhhhhh mannnnnnnnnnnnnnn thanks for the extra pics!
you made my day there hells yeah man!
pffffff, dont bother moving it farther back you'll get even less space for headers right? it looks fine now, who caes if the shifter is 1.5" off, thats nothing, its usually like that for rx7 swaps too.

rock on man, get this beast done and running!

Looking good, keep up the progress.

More pics,

Make sure you have some clearance when you bolt that water pump on. Looks like its going to be close to the frame support.

Hboy7777, is there enough room to move the setup forward to allow the use of stock exhaust manifolds? (California swap regulation)

Damn...that sucks. Does the steering shaft get in the way from your header fab too?

Good luck on the rest of the project!

There is a better way...
stuff the motor way back
turn the manifolds backwards
pass inspection
install headers

hboy,
Looks sweet.
Have you looked into the gto/corvette aluminum mount brackets?
They look like they might fit.

If they actually do a decent inspection with the swap, which I'm pretty sure they do, they won't let it pass with that transmission anyway. You're required to keep the one the engine had in it's original application.

Thats a new one on me having to have the OEM Trans I call BS on that. Whats to say they would not let you change the motor then if you have to keep the OEM trans.

What kind of bellhousing/clutch fork/throw-out bearing/transmission are you running?
