Default power steering in a 240sx.

So from what i have gathered the stock 240 power steering pump has to be used to avoid blowing the seals on the 240 rack.

Is there anyone using a from the LSx on the stock 240 rack?

has anyone tried using the GTO rack and LSx pump?

Use the LS1 pump and cut the 2 coils off the spring in the pump we have done it with the RX7's works great. pull the fitting out of the presure side of the pump and you will find a piston check ball and a spring thats the one you need to take 2 coils off. What pressure does the 240 rack run at?

I ran just an extra lone steel braided line between my two fittings and it seems to cool the PS quite well. It runs towards the front of the car so air does hit it.

Stock LS1 pump and Stock 240 Rack. Street driven with no cooler and havent had a problem. If I were doing some competitive driving like drifting or a road course then a cooler would go on.

mine failed when i was at a event contant runs at 6k rpm about 3 hours or drifting with 20 minute brakes every 30 minutes. pump went out. if you notice the ls1 in a fbody runs into that pipe that runs inline with the coolant ? that tells me that coolant is used to cool down the p/s fluid running in that tube. so if you running 180 degree on the coolant then p/s must be alot hotter ? i did some daily driving and tested it and measured 120 degree. You all may be fine without a cooler.. but then again maybee my pump waqs just bad ? i dont know.

im using a gto engine in mye 240 sx, it doesn seem like my pump is delivering enough pressure to give sufficent powersteering. it works above 3500 rpm, below that its on powersteering.

do you have any idea why mye 2004 GTO pump doesnt give me sufficient power steering?
