the oil pans are universal between engines (for the most part), but you have to make sure that you use the correct windage tray, dipstick, tube, and pickup tube.

Default LSX pans from Propan.net

Doug Lee at Propan.net builds LSX pans, and can do custom pans as well. He built a LS7 pan for me which uses the stock oiling system, and made it work the way I wanted it to - much better oil control in the sump, better oiling line connections, and a lower overall height. He can basically build whatever you need. Here are a few pics:

I just found out that the "truck" (LQ4/LQ9) pan fits in the fist gen Camaro's and 1968-1972 (and maybe 1974 Nova's). It actually clears the cross member so you do NOT have to notch a f-body pan. They are really cheap and can be found anywhere.

use caution on lowered camaros, as this pan is one of the deepest that GM has. That is why they chose the LH8 pan instead. Easier to fit.

Correct! It is rather deep. The vehicle I have witnessed it installed in, has the stock ride height, with 15"x8" Rally wheels.

Default RetroLSX oil Pan - New 11/09

RetroLSx Pan: 5.5" deep sump with a 5qt capacity. This pan comes with a new custom pick up tube and a baffling plate (not shown) that controls oil in the pan. The stock LH8 windage tray is to be used with this unit but is not included. It uses a stock GM filter. This pan has the same thick 3/8 flange that’s on GM units for a pan that will add block rigidity unlike stamped swap pans. In comparison, the LH8 pan has a sump that is 7.5" deep.

I would like to see this pan with the oilfilter on
because it looks like the filter would end up under the pan
