Bracket question I have a 2004 GTO LS1. I need to use a high drivers side mount for the alternator as it won't clear the steer rack. I will not use Power Steering. Will the Corvette alternator mount align with my pulleys? What is the part number for the Corvette mount? Where can I find one? Thanks
Sorry... Nope! Been there done that...
I have a LS2 GTO that I converted over to the Vette accessories. First the Vette stuff is ~3/4" closer to the block (including the crank pulley). Second the GTO alternator mounting holes are different and do not align in the factory Vette bracket. Keep in mind this is an '06 GTO LS2 and not an '04 LS1 but I believe this still holds.
You may have to use aftermarket brackets for the LS1 F-Body but none will let you keep the GTO alternator. :-(

Im using the corvette bracket with 3/4 spacers. Im also using the stock f-body alternator, going to grind the bosses to offset so the pulley lines up! You can find the vette bracket part number around on LS1TECH by using the search

I cheaped out and fabbed my own bracket.

I think I will just make one myself. That way I can put it where I want it. I will probably put it on the drivers side since I will not use the PS. I will make an idler about where the AC was but make it to clear my steering. Thanks for your help.
