It was there when I got the rear. I assume it is a place to jack the rear end up.

After realizing that won't allow enough throw on the bearing and I will have clutch problems, I took a look at my friends pro stock car and decided to copy the ways his is setup.
Moved back to a gm fork and driver's pivot ball. Moved the fork exit to 7pm, instead of 9pm. All is well in the world now and the clutch movement is perfect.
Same problem here and after a lot of calculations and experimenting with the clutch/bearing travel came to the conclusion that I needed to shorten the fork by 1". Fork is at 7 o'clock. Trans is '03 T56. Bellhousing is Quicktime 8020 modified to accept cable clutch. Provides the recommended 0.030" air gap at the disk.

Looks good... I spent 4 days dealing all the clutch b.s. If I would have just kept the stock clutch pedal, I probably could have made something work, but I wanted the heim joint linkage for a more positive feel.

I had REBS in Reseda, Ca modify the upper mount on the rear end, so I could lower the car as much as I wanted without having the uppers hit the housing. (you won't have that problem with an 8.8)
I also got Racecraft's new billet uppers, which helped as well...
I have a stock location Wolfe Adjustable spring perch kit and I can adjust my ride height 2"
I can actually lower the car more than it is.

I really don't know if it will work that low, but I will find out when I finally make it out to the track.
Between the clutch and my suspension, I am pretty sure I can keep it that low and get it to 60ft where I want it.

Getting slightly closer... by the time all the fluids and intake/carb are on it, it should sit a little lower in the front. Can't wat to finally drive this phucking thing... All the wiring is done, just need fuel and water lines and finish the headers.

I didn't really want to do it either. I have the car sitting so low that I can't put the headers underneath, since I have the stock floor.

I heard upsides to the exhaust is that there won't be anything under the car, the undercarriage stays cleaner. Unfortunately, it will be louder.

I do agree with you, it would be way better with it underneath.

I may look into changing it next year.

All the wires hanging in that one picture is the power lead for the ignition box I haven't installed yet and the other is for the lights for the gauges....

Thanks to Stevie's Garage in Simi Valley for the wiring, hood install and building the headers...
