Default Cruise Control for LS2 DBW

Hello guys:

I'm wondering if anyone has cracked this egg yet?

I'm putting a GTO LS2/T56 in a 68 Camaro and want to use the ECM controlled cruise control. I've converted the LS2 over to the Corvette accessories but will retain the GTO E40 ECM. In looking at the wiring diagrams it looks like I need a Powertrain Interface Module (PIM) and a Body Control Module (BCM) to make this work.

Is there an easier way? Do the guys that rework the harnesses provide for this or do I need a custom set-up.

Many thanks for any insight.

Cheers

Huh? Does the some problem exist with a E38 ECM controled Engine?

The 05/06 GTO and 05 Corvette LS2 have the 24x reluctor and uses the E40 ECM. The 06 Corvette is a 58x reluctor and uses the E38. I've attached the cruise control wiring diagrams for both that shows the OEM modules. It appears the E38 does not use a PIM but it does use a BCM.

Hope this helps.

Surely someone has figured this out?

The CC module from a 94 Camaro does not interface with the PCM at all. Swap the steering column for a later one with the CC stalk and it would look totally stock.

OPS I guess you just need a wire to drive it with then.

Don't know what to tell ya on that one.

Bumping an old thread:

Same question as the OP. I know a few have suggested having an SSR or Trailblazer OS flashed to the GTO PCM (along with the use of a Trailblazer pedal) in order to have the PCM control the cruise functions. But the SSR and Trailblazer are "truck" LS2's with different intakes and MAF's. The factory tune for the GTO is likely somewhat different. I'm trying to keep this as simple as possible and thus would like to retain the GTO flash on the PCM.

Apparently, the Powertrain Interface Module (PIM) controls the cruise control in conjunction with the GTO's E40 PCM. I'm trying to track down the PIM out of the shell from my LS2 donor car.

Has anyone gotten a GTO E40 cruise control to function using the GTO PIM? I'm wondering if the BCM is required too, or if the PIM alone will do the trick?

Thanks.

Tipsy

Rumor has it that with VATS disabled the PIM and ECM (and BCM for that matter) still transfer data. I'm not at the point myself to verify it personally but I've ask the same question over on LS1GTOdotCOM. You are correct that the cruise interface is through the PIM.

Read post #56 onward. Again I'm not a point to verify but is sounds promosing!
