LSX in 87' Fox

Well I ended up getting it to the track after all on friday, although I would have been better bring ice skates instead of et streets..Out of 5 passes I only made 2 decent passes. Best 60' foot all night was a 1.60, which the car should be capable of 1.4-1.5 all day, but the track just wasn't allowing it. The other 3 runs were a peddle fest, as stated earlier the track just wouldn't hold the car..Best run of the night ended up being a 11.002@124, 60' beam didn't work this pass.. Car should easily go 10.70-10.80's with a better track and weather conditions, humidity was at 85%, also I didn't even do any tuning on the car at the track, ie no carb adjustment or timing. Only dropped tire pressure a little.
Overall I am very pleased with the car. Once I get it dialed in on the motor it will be time to throw a little bottle at it. Should go 9's no problem.
Only thing I think I'm going to need to change is gearing, I think I'm going to need to back down to a 3.73 from the 4.10, the 4.10's are going to be too much once I spray it..

6500+ I can't really remember, as I was concentrating on keeping the car straight, cause as I said it seemed like it was ice, just know the light was set at 6500 or so..But I checked the DA a little bit ago, and my local track is at 1200ft and on the night I went with the humidity and everything it equaled out to almost 3400ft.... The air was so thick and muggy..

Well took a trip up to Arkansas City, KS this weekend, for a little racing and car show..Track was freaking packed..I hadnt been back up there since they reopened the track, and must say they made tons of improvements since when we used to street race on the abandoned closed down track. Anyway I only made two passes, 1st pass let off around the 1/8th mile and went 12.149@74..haha 2nd pass went a 10.906@123..Overall very happy with the car, for what it is. Still a couple tenths left in it I think..Car still isn't 60' great..Best its done is a 1.60, I think a true slick instead of an et street will help with the addition of some screws..
But will be going out again soon, and plans to spray it in the near future..I have a kit on the car already, but am wanting to get the most out of it on the motor first...

still impressive times, im sure its posted on a previous page but im lazy: whats your rear suspension setup? mine has a really thick rear swaybar which seems to help out alot but my car leaves like a turtle
btw id love to come down for the "cash days" thing, street racing in this area is pretty much dead as of late, plus those are some REALLY fast cars down there!

I hope you get it figured out. Maybe the MSD box. I had problems getting mine started and they said the motor had to spin at least 230rpms to pick up the crank signal. Once I started spinning it around 210rpm's it started registering on the laptop and then we got it to fire.
So if you have a slightly low battery, it may not start.. Something to check!

Yeah I remember the problems you were having with yours but I don't think thats my problem, Car has been running for about a month now, a couple times to the track, plenty of miles driven around town, with no problems at all..

Its been a while since I've had an update, I haven't been able to get back to the track yet, but have been changing some things up. Took the Ebiach drag springs off the car and put some stock 4 cyl. springs in the rear, added some coil overs with the addition of some tubular a arms on the front. Should drop around 15-20lbs off the nose. And hopefully fix some of my 60' issue..Will be taking the car back to get re-scaled this week..Still need to get some true slicks for the car also..

Well got out to the track today..The coil overs and an ET Drag made a huge difference..Only got two passes in, First pass was a 10.65@ 125 with a 1.47 60' carrying the the fronts about 8-10" for 10-20ft..2nd pass 10.63@ 125 with a 1.48 60' again carrying the fronts but at about 1.5-2 ft in the air. Very please with the times on the motor for being a stock ported heads and baby cam car..I think it still has a little left in it..But was running out of gear at about 1000-1200ft. Still haven't sprayed it yet. But it will for sure see some deep 9's..
