I bought an ls1 block and crank off here late in 2006 and ended up selling it to a local guy who was putting it in a circle track car that uses LPE built engines. Its basically a stock bottom end with a slightly worked cam with stock top end from what I understood. They are turning those engines over 7000 rpms the entire race. Sounded like a cool series, I hope more and more start making the switch.

Do you know where he is racing? I would like to know if he is racing with any of our customers.

I wish I would have taken some video from the track. There is a short video of an LS3 running around Husets on this video the E 85 car. This is a local news channel. The racer talking was running a 5.7L in a dirt latemodel. 2 other winners from Cheaters day were running 5.3L's. We are big promoters of ethanol.

Not that I have a clue about sprint cars, but down here in Florida, they use in-out boxes....no starter. At east bay, they have a limited sprint class in which you can have a starter, and coil overs, etc.....just wondering, not hyjacking.

That is pretty much how a standard sprint works. It is either in gear or out of gear. The use push trucks to start them when they are in gear. You will see them fly into the pits in gear, watch your ***!!!, and then take them out of gear and coast to their pit stall so they can warm them up.

Very interesting concept and machinery.

Yes, these only have in out boxes in them. But, we figured, since we were going to have a battery in it anyway, we might as well have a starter. Plus, if all sprinters used them, which will never happen, it would speed up the show significatly. Plus, it would be safer in the pits without all the push trucks.
It is fun to watch the expression on the push truck driver's face when these cars take off before they get pushed though!!!!!!

He actually didn't say specifically where they are racing. He made it sound like a group of people got together and bought all of the remaining cars from a defunct Nascar series that used the same chassis and engine rules as they are now running by. I am not really sure where they run at though, sorry.

FYI

We have 2 prototype 6.2L's running at Speedweeks in FL. 1 dirt modified in Volusia Speedway Park, Babersville. And 1 asphalt super late model running at New Smyrna Speedway.
