Any of you conversion guys running a/c?
Well needless to say that is why it didnt' work. I put the newer compressor in anyway because it is a lot of work to get it out of my car. But, all is well that ends well. And I charged up my system and it blows ice-cold air. It was only 79 degrees yesterday so can't say how good it would be at 95. I didn't measure the outlet temps but my hand said it is damn cold.
SO, swappers with a Vintage Air unit fear not. The LS1 compressor is good. Actually, some AC experts have told me that it is an optimum setup having a thermal expansion valve with a variable displacement pump. ALL in ALL, this was the only mistake I made with this swap, so I have to pat myself on the back. Summer is over and now it is time to start thinking about more power for my winter projects.
