Jay, I was just looking at your pulley's again. Could you have used the tensioner pulley off the original ac. I've been looking at that on my motor. It will almost bolt up just below the tension pulley. Might have to ream the holes out and put a couple of spacers in, but, it looks like it might work.

I will try my best to get some pics on here tomorrow in the morning.
I got everything finished up and it all appears to work well.
Will need some road testing, but I feel pretty confident it will stay together.

Neither can I

of course, my bracket isn't ready to be picked up yet. Its getting 'trued' on a cnc machine. Sawzall just doesn't make very nice, straight cuts that I'd like it too

Here are some pics of my compressor mounting.
The brackets are a little hard to see, and have not been painted.
I just finished up the test fit yesterday, and ran the truck for a while to make sure everything was on track.
So far so good.
They will obviously look better painted.
They are not show quality but do not look too bad either IMO.
BTW the pics with the radiator hose bent over is just to show the compressor.
There aren't any clearance issues with the hose

Alright, does the bracket bolt to the head? Do any additional holes need to be drilled?
Good job. Let me know how much?
thanks

Very nice setup! Wish I had access to that kind of fabrication.

Would that work with F-body accessories? IE the waterpump, since the outlet is facing forward, and not upright as on the one you have pictured?

What about the belt tensioner?

Again, nice work!

There really is no tensioner. It is static with the threaded rod on top of the compressor.
I need to do some fine tuning, and drive it a while to make sure it is reliable before I feel comfortable selling any.
I'll keep you guys posted.

what about the waterpump inlet/outlet on the top?

on the f-body it faces forward and that looks like it would interfere with the belt, which was my problem......

Don't know for sure about the water pump inlet on the ls1.
My suspecion is that the belt will hit.
I just haven't tried it on an ls1
Sorry

There are other folks on here "bezee" already using the f body compressor in there older systems. Isn't it after all just another compressor ground and 12 volt +. I'm planning on using mine and running it the old fashion way thru the cars a/c control and by passing the ecm altogether. I would not think it has any smarts internally.

I'm just glad to see some alternatives to $500 brackets from S&P and the like. They make great products, but unfortunately, it is out of my price range.

If it doesn't work with the LS1 accessories, then so be it. Its a different design that might just need to be tweaked to work with the different water pump inlet.

I like the turnbuckle setup. Where did you acquire that???

The turnbuckle and rod ends came from midwestcontrol
They have a lot of specialty fittings and such

I just started working on a bracket of my own. I will have some pics up later tonight. I think its going to work. I'll be using a little earlier compressor and not the one I have mounted which is the on that came with the 03 motor.
