He had these tow hooks laser cut for us. We'll wind up with two up front, below the front valance, and one in the back. The rear one is very nearly finished and we'll be going on the fronts tomorrow.

I also wanted to take a minute to thank John at Speartech who built a pair of extension harnesses for our relocated coil brackets. He turned them around in no time flat and they fit perfectly. Great customer service is always appreciated - thanks.

In a weird sort of way I'll be a bit sad to see this finished! Pretty cool seeing the next new bit being unveiled and put into place
It's been an unbelievable build so far, absolute credit to you and whomever has helped you mate, outstanding work!!
Wish it was in Australia so I could see it in the flesh once it's up and running

I thought I would post a quick update before heading to La Jolla for the week so here is where we are today...
The exhaust is in, the Mark Williams aluminum driveshaft has arrived, the brakes are bled and the power windows and glass is being aligned. Most importantly for '67 fans... the vent windows are in!
We wanted to see the car on the groung one last time before finishing off some other minor details so here it sits. The lower valance still need polishing and so does the roof but I couldn't resist shooting a couple of pics.
The hood is just set in place - no hinges and no latch - and it still needs to be sanded and polished but it's there.

We had the entire exhaust system ceramic coated after grinding all of the welds flush (there is something I will never do again). We have the tips trimmed properly and the fit is great...

Thanks guys, I appreciate the compliments.
With the spoiler/splitter in place with the lower close out there is absolutely no way to hook a tow strap of any kind under the car so I wanted to have a couple of points available when I have to pull it onto a trailer or hauler.
Like Will01 said, I am building this run and am realistic enough to know up front that frankly, there are going to be days when it just won't...

Looks sharp! Is there any chance the heat from the pipe will cause the paint to bubble? I have seen similar set-ups on ALMS cars and I believe they have sheet metal around the pipe?

I think that we should be ok but it is always a possibility. If need be we will shield it but I hope that the ceramic coating and natural clearance will be enough.

I don't know how you could stand waiting 2 and a half years to finish that car. I'd just go stare at it now that it's been painted. When are you planning on letting it loose on the street? I would never race that car, it's too nice. I might take it down the quarter mile but nothing longer. Put it in every car show you can, it'll win every time. Great work.
