the theft deterrent module is behind the dash, just to the right of the radio, attached to the airbag bracket

if you didnt connect this wire to your pcm the engine will crank but you will not have injector pulse

it has an 8 wire connector on it:

a1 orange power
a2 pink power
a3 blue ***** (FUEL ENABLE SIGNAL)*******
A4 yellow theft relay
a5 gray security lamp
b5 black ground
b7 purple ign key resistor
b8 white ign key resistor

again wire a3 on the theft module needs to go to the red c2 connector pin 30 on the pcm

yes, you will have fuel pressure but no pulse to the injectors without this wire

do you have injector pules while cranking(you need a noid light to check this, autozone or advance auto should have a set), also do you have power at the pink injector wires when the key is in run and crank position

I do have power to the pink wires but only if I ground it to the chassis. If I ground it to the injector I get nothing and i have no pulse at all

The inj shell is not grounded. Are you are referring to the other pin in the inj plug??
Power to 1 side of the inj and the other to engine ground should turn the inj on. Watch the fp ga, and see if the psi drops when you do this.
If the inj fires, then the problem is with the control of the neg side of injs. IE: the ECM is not pulsing the injs.

Correct. It isnt pulsing because the Vats has issues. I am sending my pcm to Jay to have it taken care of

Vats will allow the motor to start. It will run for 3-5 seconds and will die, but it will start.

Hmm so that isnt the problem then. I have no idea what it can be. I get spark, fuel to rails, i have cleaned injectors, just no ground on the injector wires for some reason

i would tend to think a bad ground might cause this, i could be wrong but i believe the injectors have constant power(+) while the key is on the the pcm grounds the connection to make the injector fire...just an idea

I would check your harness over for a missed or bad ground. I would guess thats your problem.

just for your info. my swap i just finished up on. with vats in the computer and that theft deterent wire unhooked the motor would start. would run for 3-5sec and die. i had my vats deleted out and walla...it runs! Make sure all your pink wires have power with the key in the run and crank positions. Make sure orange have power at all times. the motor grounds are on the back of the driver side head. Also, do you have a ground from your motor to your frame? have you made sure you have 58-60psi fuel pressure. i have had motors with 30-40psi not even try to start. check that. If you have ignition, and proper fuel pressure, that leaves injectors to fire to make it run. Give us an update as to where you are.
