How come you put the engine up so high?

i put a 2x4 under the oil pan to make sure i had enough steering component clearance and that's just how it turned out ...i dont think it's more than a 1/2" higher than any other ones i've seen...

guess you were right, i didnt think it was much higher than the others i had seen. but after puttin the bellhousing on, i realized it needs to come down about 1", gonna move it back about 1/2" so the alternator will clear the gearbox..thanx

got the mounts moved, alternator likes a little bit clearing the steering box, i think i can remove enough material to let it stay in the stock location...

worked on gettin the alternator figured out, i think there's enough clearance between the housing and gearbox, but the pulley is only 1/8" away..i have an overdrive pulley I can use if i have to...will look for a smaller rag joint or do away with it completely....

been slow goin so far due to trying to fix some corrosion damage in some areas and general cleanup overall, especially on the underside of the floorpan, but got the body back on and got the firewall smoothed (for the second time) and the motor/tranny, brake booster and clutch master installed, also got the front and rear AirRide suspension components installed as well as all new front steering components along with an 1 1/8" front Adco swaybar

not much to report, got the clutch reservoir mounted and put heat shielding on the clutch line...I ditched the rubber line for the clutch res and bent up a steel line because the weird angles it has to run was puttung a strain on the clutch res and i thought it would break over time
