Ordered all my H3 stuff and it worked well, only thing i think is wrong is the dipstick tube, my indicator doesn't ever touch oil with 6 qts in the pan. ordered another one and its the same length. Thinking my problem is with the tube.

Well i used some part numbers off of the s10forum website, and then called my GM parts guy. had him look everything up too. I called today to double check and the 08 H3 pan holds 6qts oil with the filter, so my level is right on. I need to order another tube. Im thinking i just got something that was misslabeled.

With the Z06 cam you'll get a supposed 50 hp gain I heard it hurts your bottom end speeds but theres gains on top end I have 1 but havent put it in yet. Theres a pretty good book you can pick up at Auto Zone or Barns & Noble its called; How to build high-performance CHEVY LS1/LS6 V-8S. ITS AWSOME! It tells part #'s the history of the motors and how to build sum bad @$$ HP!

chevyfast that book is old info. most of it was taken from this and a couple other web sites and isn't up to date on what these guys are able to do now with the l92 ls2 and ls3 and ls7 motor's. you could find everything here if your willing to look for it. the ls6 cam hp depends on what motor and it needs to be tuned to pick up all the hp. One of the magazines did a test and got 30 hp on the 4.8 about 35 on the 5.3 and 40 on the lq4. I havn't seen anyone lose noticable bottom end power.

Ok So I "test fitted the motor tonight to see what I was looking at needing and I think I am going to have a problem with the P/S pump clearance. Am I really going to need the vette accessory bracket? And If i run that will my pump and alternator bolt back up or do i need that stuff off the vette?

You need the vette pulleys. Thats all that will fit in the S10. Also I think you have to notch the frame on the pass. side to clear. Read the S10 ls1 thread lots of info.

You can use my kit that relocates a alterntor to the top passenger side..... You will still need to cut and brace the frame for the ac compressor.....
I sell my alt kit with new cs style alternator for 400.00

There have been many people having success using the truck accessories. There will be less room between the accessories and whatever fans you choose...but it can be done with not too many issues. I have heard that some people have had to cut a little piece of the bracing under the hood for the truck intake manifold to clear. No matter what route you take you will have to notch your frame unless you relocate your a/c or eliminate it.
I personally am using the Vette accessories because I "want" (not need) the extra room and I am relocating my a/c and using the H3 pan, so I do not have to notch my frame at all.

Update
So I have been working hard on this swap and here is an update. Any advice or recommendations at this point would be greatly appreciated. I bought swap headers and sent them off to a friend for ceramic coating, not bad for $100 for the pair.. Decided on the ls6 stock intake, bought a nice ported and polished tb off ebay. Bought z06 cam off ebay and I am ordering valve springs ( deffinately looking for a recommendation on these, and I am not working on the largest budget )
Using stock pushrods and lifters. Bought 08 h3 pan ( GM took forever to get it to me though) notched frame for a/c. I am in the process of porting heads.
Still not sure about injectors, anyone think the stock truck injectors will keep up based on these mods? Or should I do it up ***** with some bigger ones?
Also thinking about gear to gear set up or double roller. My stocker looked a little out of spec ( visually but maybe it was really fine but why not upgrade now then later. Ill try to post some pic soon the truck it in nice condition with 22's and all shaven paint job.
