That's not a bad price at all. Maybe a grand total of 60k for a home built super-car. I've always wondered if these things were legal to drive on the road, too.. And not just on the track.

Kit cars in most states are considered home built cars. The only hurdle I see is passing emission and that should not be problem with the LS7.

Been looking an reading the superlite for awhile now. No wheels included as far as I know. It has a very spacious engine bay and it was meant so that you can stick anything you want in it whether it be a 4cyl. or a Dodge Viper V10 and mated to trannys such as the porsche G50 or more recently fitted the Ford GT tranny. Basically when you do your purchase you tell them what you are putting in there and they set it up for you. From what I have heard it sounds more like they actually build the cars in house for you for the most part, which to me makes the price that much more of a deal.

Also a very cool car but this one you are building completely on your own and this includes finishing all the body panels to get it all to fit up right. On top of that $20k you have to add in the cost of a donor C5 vette for all the extra parts needed but I believe it can still be done cheaper than the Superlite....its just personal preference.

You have to choose your own wheels.

Any motor would actually work Lexus, Ford, Chev it is designed to be very flexible.

Any gearbox also would work. I have heard the customers so far seem to favor the LS7 / Ford GT40 box.

T56 would not work easily.

Yea, they are definitely two different animals. You can completely finish the GTM for for under $50k. Donor c5s can be had for about $10k, and you can sell what you dont use for enough to cover at least half that. Its a matter of personal preference. I want to build mine from the ground up, so im going GTM. I believe the Superlite was also up at the Kit Car Nationals at Carlisle PA and it was absolutely awesome. Looks like a very good quality build, and of course when they started that ls7 up everyone knew it

Looks like a nicer designed Ultima GTR. The question is just does it work as good as the Ultimate?

I too prefer the Superlite Roadster because of the price/performance factor.

Looks cool...but if I were to go that route...I would buy from Factory 5 Racing, due to the fact that they are reputedly the best in the Biz...
