LS1 In An FFR Roadster
#162
Little update. This past weekend the neighbor, his son, and myself started getting the side pipes mocked up, mounted, and getting an idea of what we have to do to connect them. Hopefully be done with this part pretty soon. Then I'll have some video of the car with an actual exhaust instead of open headers. Plus the neighbors probably won't hate me as much.....Maybe...
Here's some pics of last weekends activities:
Redneck exhaust mock up
Other side
Neighbors son Josh came made a cool spacer to keep the exhaust the correct distance from the frame of the car..
Brian my neighbor clocking a header flange before we tack welded it on
An last one cause I like this view for some reason..

However a set of custom headers are on the todo list, along with some other ideas after the car gets on the road. I've already had that mod budget working in the background..

Who wants another video? I might be able to help ya with that..
Neighbors and I got the exhaust finished and bolted up today. Soooo I spend most of the afternoon taking some drives around the neighboorhood. Sorry about the shaky camera and dash clippy thingy in the way. Josh couldn't stop shaking for some reason, dunno why..

I actually have an ls1 from an 00 trans am ws6 in an rx7 (it is returnless) I have a fuel cell out back with a pre filter to an inline walbro 255 to the corvette filter (which also has the return which loops right back to the cell) out to the hard line and to the fuel rail..

Hey guys. Ya I've been REALLY lax on updates. A lot has been going on for awhile now. Work crap, personal stuff, money for the project ran out, etc... Excuses either way. All of it took the motivation out of me to wrench on it so I took a break for awhile. Started back on the car about a month ago. I think last time I left off the exhaust jsut got done. I finished up wiring up all the gauges so now it's just taking care of little stuff before mounting the body and making it street legal. Nothing really picture worthy right now but I'll keep up on this thread when the body gets on..
Yes I agree!! Every time I've taken this thing out it still scares the crap out of me. I love it. I just gotta finish the damn thing..

There was one guy over on the ffcars forum that has got a 65 couple LS build running. He just got it dyno tuned a little while back. Either way the build is pretty damn close to the roadster so it wouldn't a hard project at all...
we need a update, i'm looking into the coupe 65. and was wanting to see how yours is going to turn out.
Yes please give us an update!!
I had a FFR roadster a few years ago. They are great cars and well made. The whole FFR crew is fantastic!!
I will build a GTM in a couple years..

Well the weekend was a productive one. Lost count of how many times we had to put the body on, see where the body needed to be worked on. Mainly around the exhaust, rollbar, and body mount holes. It's finally on. At least until it gets ready to be sent off to the painter.. But for registrations sake all that's left is hanging the doors, hood, trunk, windshield, along with all the lights, blinkers, etc...
