The angle is 1/2 degree down when finished. Was aiming for zero to less than one.

Trust that helps!

Who did you have build your driveshaft? I need one built.

rsz288,
Earlier on in this build you mnetion the yoke for the 6l90 being available in AU. I rang my local Holden dealer and they couldn't id the part number 15897994 (obviously not conected to GM parts cat') i managed to get someone on the east coast to price one up for me @ $254 plus freight from Melb to me in WA, seemed a bit pricey. who did you get yours from or did it come with the tranny?? I'm fitting mine to a WB one tonner behind an LY6. Thanks for this awsome thread.

Cheers,
Barra.

Oops. Missed this question some time back.

From memory the yoke is available from Spicer or Dana. 6L90's aren't sold downunder so Holden wont have them as a part. The item I used came from a US supplier.

Local drive shaft shop. Cut off the original front weld yoke and welded in the larger sized item. Drive Shaft Shop in the US is mentioned on this forum elsewhere and it looks like they do great work. Plus Empire Driveline etcetc.

(Previous post)

I have been following your thread and I recently installed one in my 1996 Impala SS. I originally had a T56 with my LY6 6.0 and I am using a 2007 Corvette program. I have been having some trouble getting it to shift out of gear. I am getting TCM codes U0100(lost comm w/ ecm & pcm), U121(lost comm w/ ABS module) and U140 (lost comm w/ body ctrl module). Since I don't have the BCM or ABS module, do I need to somehow terminate the Can Hi speed connection at the pin? I am pretty sure I am in limp mode. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Default Six Speed Auto 6L90 rear gear ratio

Excellent write up and craftsmanship. Especially the bold choice of the 6L90 transmission.

After having completed this swap and peaking my interest and I'm sure many others......

Would you recommend this transmission in an early Camaro or would you stick with one that has more "desirable" dimensions?

Regarding the rear gear. The Corvette uses a 2.75 with the 6L90 and the CTS-V uses a 3.25 rear gear. What final rear gear ratio did you chose?

What gear would you recommend for a naturally aspirated 67-69 Camaro being built for the Hot Rod Power Tour?

Thanks for the compliments.

Having done this swap and some other A6's, would still do the A6 over again even though it is harder.

Ran a 2.73 stock ratio in the rear. With a 4:1 first gear, that is like having something like 5.5:1 in the back with a 2.2:1 or 2.5:1 Muncie 4 speed.

It is great off the line and cruising at 60mph at 1600rpm.

Here is a video of an early Nova and a 69 Camaro with the six speed auto. Skip ahead to the end of the video. Not any details, but the trans is finding its way into swaps.

Can you please provide a link to the actual motor mounts you used? I am ready to drop my L99 and 6L80e into the subframe.

I just checked out your build thread. Very impressive to say the least. So where did you learn the extensive body work? Who did you use for body panels? How was the fit? Source? I look forward to watching your badass build continue.

I want to replace the drivers quarter and rear tail light panel on my 70 Camaro but its very imtimidating. LOL.

thanks,
Jim

Default Cruise control?

That was a beautiful build!

Now I'm kind of interested in putting L99/6L80E in a '93 Fleetwood.

One of the things I'm thinking about is how to deal with cruise control. You can't have a Cadillac without cruise control!

The '93 has an L05 truck-style engine with TBI. The cruise control is set up with a complicated arrangement of pulleys and teleflex-style cables. Complicated, but it's electronic and looks pretty solid.

Would it be possible to retain the stock accelerator pedal and cruise control and to hook up the L99's electronic throttle to the teleflex cable that would normally connect to the throttle on the TBI?

I appreciate the info very much. I guess I need to change the notification settings on reply posts. I already purchased motor mounts. I will send what I have tomorrow when I get to the office. Did you buy and modify the ATS T56 6-Speed Crossmember or make your own?

Thanks for the props. Learned it when I was young. Goodmark on the panels. Fit is never good on aftermarket metal. Cheapest source is Tamaraz. You can find them on EBay but sometimes they are not the quickest to deliver.

This is what I bought from BRP Hot Rods. I talked to a rep and he states these are designed for the 2nd gen and will allow the 3 degrees of angle needed. 2FMM 2nd Gen F-Body Motor Mount Kit $280.00. They also have custom oil pans for the swap. I will be building the subframe this weekend.

Thanks again for all the info you have provided. Not sure I would have taken this on if it was not for you.

Great work throughout the thread. Very informative.
We are building a 67 corvette convertible restomod with upgraded LSA 700hp/680tq on C6 suspension and aftermarket chassis. Winters quick change 3.45 rear end. 345/19 tires. We have the 6L90e that also came from an 09 Cad CTSV takeout; same as our engine. We are debating if we want to use the paired 6L90e or, go with the 4L85e. Several negatives to using the 6L90e. Tunnel mods, crossmember, exhaust, shifters, programming and tuning, high cost to upgrade to withstand hp/tq.

The 4L85e creates none of the above and half the cost to upgrade for hp/tq.

However, I remain willing to go through the pain if the reward can be justified in performance. Do you have any suggestions or comments for me based on our driveline combination listed above and your experience?

I also sent a PM to poorhousenext for his consultation specific to C2 corvette installs.

Thank you in advance.
