Car died and wont start, just cranks
I came home from the dragstrip and parked my car after a long night of racing...came out in the morning and took off for work. About 1 mile away the car just sputtered and died. Started back up barely and died and then couldnt get to start it again. It just cranks smooth like no gas/spark etc.
I put some gas in it and tried to start it 30 minutes after the first time. I got about 100 feet and it died again. Had to trailor it home. The car wouldnt start next day but one time i went out and it fired right up and idled fine. Ran for 10 seconds , i revved it, then it died and wont try to start again
What to check?????? Its not out of gas. I checked alot of fuses. Umm nothing seems unplugged.

Re: Car died and wont start, just cranks
Check fuel pressure at the rail.
When you say you revved it and it died indicates to me that maybe you lost your battery power to the PCM and now the idle learn procedure has to be performed. This happened to me. Everything fixed after the idle learn procedure.
As for loosing the 12V, indicates maybe a loose ground somewhere. Check the ground point on the back side of the driver side cylinder head. That is a common one to vibrate loose.

Re: Car died and wont start, just cranks
yea, if the PCM dies the car will still crank like everything is ok.
Could be something shorting a sensor wire for the PCM to ground which also causes the PCM to shut off.

Ok, went out and the car fired first try.
Then shutit off after 2-3 minutes of idling..
Started and shut if off 3 more times...
then the car wont fire again and just sat there and cranks. I gave up trying to get it to start
Went out the next day and the car wouldnt start.
then an hour later it fired right off again
argh! what could this be

FIXED IT,one of the two main computer wires going to the starter (gets main battery power at same spot) connector was loose, sometimes it touched others it didnt...
