Wes' car (the black 85 GT) is definitely a sweet ride...

My car is here.... https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-swaps/823536-yup-another-mustang-ls2-drag-car.html

I just got all the front suspension on and the engine is going in next week.

What oil pan are you going to use?

The oil pan I have on it is a corvette pan I think???? I will get a couple pics of it and post them up when I get back from vacation on Sunday. We already test fit it and everything cleared nicely.

I am actually in Euless, if you know where that is. Yes, I get on DFWstangs forums occasionally. I also get on DFWSS.org sometimes too. I mainly get on here, there is a ton more cool stuff on these forums and it is a chevy based forum . Thanks for the compliments, I have been working on this project for going on a year. I have been mainly gathering parts and doing a ton of research on what stuff to buy for the motor and what stuff to buy for the swap. We just really got rolling on this thing last month and what you see is the product of about three days total worth of work. Between my schedule and my friend who is helping me ( also where the car is kept) we only get one or two days a month to work on it , so hopefully the next few are as productive as these.

i know where euless is, i have some family that grew up in hurst.

what's your s/n on dfwsand dfwss?

the car looks like you got a good start on it, keep us updated. i'm set on an 87-93 coupe, but i keep going back and forth between a big cube windsor or ls1...i will definately build an ls based motor for the s10 after i pick it up from my father in law, but i'm still up in the air for the coupe i want to build.

my sign on or screen name on dfwss is FlightRisk and on Dfwstangs its FlightRisk.....a big cube windsor motor is a good bet, but the weight and the power of an LS motor is just something else....

I will get more pictures up once I get more work done. I still have to measure for a driveshaft, finish the fuel lines from the pump to the reg., finish the reg. to the carb, driver side header , mount the shifter, new brake pads and shoes front and rear, finish terminating all the wiring, and then hook the laptop up and load a tune. Then I will have a video of it running.

Wow that looks awesome. One question did you use the stock steering shaft with this steup?

That is what is in there. I don't know how well it will work. I still have to take the shaft off the rag joint and put the driver side header on , so I can't say that it is going to work for sure. I will get a manual rack down the road or if the power rack and rag joint don't work....

Have you tried pulling the actual sterring column out from the firewall? The piece that comes through the firewall slides in and out. Grab some vise grips and pull it out. It will take some muscle to move it, but they have about 2 inches of adjustment

My steering shaft actually works (goes together) , I just don't know if the rag joint will fit between the headers. I will post a pic tomorrow of the header and the steering shaft.
