How consistant is your temp in this location? I would think a temp reading from the head or block would be more vital and consistant than a reading on the pump outlet.

 

Agreed, in the the head, closer to the combustion chamber will give you the most valuable info.

 

then I am confused...my 99 harness has a plug for both

my 98 ls1 didnt have one of them (2 wire in front driver head) so I just bought one

 

The 99 F-Body should only have one Temp sender in the harness, Front Driver side.. are you sure your not mistaking it for some other connector ? AC pressure is near that area.. as is the Crank sensor (rear passenger side).

If you do have to temp sensor, someone must have modified and added a aftermarket on on the rear passenger side.

 

Maybe you are confusing it with the oil pressure sending unit connector?

 

that one is up top behind the manifold though correct?

I had everything mocked up and it plugged into a sensor on both heads, weird....its a factory style plug

 

I remember the LT1's having 2 sensors. 1 for PCM, 1 for the gauge.

 

thats how my dad thought these were, so I didn't think anything of it until I read on here there was only supposed to be 1

I need a spot to put a sensor for my factory temp gauge and also a place for my fan turn on since my electric fans are done independently from the ecm, looks like I can tap a head for my gauge and the water pump for the fans
