S10 Fuel Tank Question!
I am building a 1985 S10 with a 5.3 and 4l65e! I have a complete Aeromotive A1000 fuel system! my question lyes in the tank! I do not wanna switch to cell! can i swap in a newer body s10 tank? then what type of sending unit would be best? Is there a sending unit avaliable with AN outlets made on it? any help would be great!

I cannot see you can't use a new s-10 tank and sending unit. Should bolt right in. I would use the GM to AN fittings to start your system. That way you don't have to cut anything, and should be 100% leak free.

Ok so with the new style s10 tank, what about the sending unit? it has the pump made on it! how do i take care of this? just remove the pump from the sending unit? will it still pick up correctly? i need to figure this out asap! cab and bed are ready to go back on!

The sending unit will work fine without the pump there, you will have no problems. I did this on my last build and put a #8 AN fitting with 1/2 inch aluminum fuel line going down to where the fuel pump pick up would have been.

if you have a a1000 pump and regulator I would suggest sumping the stock tank....
These kits are easy to do!

Then you would havem a accurate reading gauge and non need for another tank....

Newer style fuel tank!
I think he said newer style fuel tank he was replacing it with. So just get the tank with the pump and sender and harness and fuel lines too. Did they make plastic S10 tanks?
