VSS Adapter
On my conversion I am running a Keisler TKO 5 speed transmission. It does not have a VSS output. I want a VSS so I can tune easier. Do they make an VSS adapter that will go into the speedo output on the transmission and let the speedo cable connect to it and give me a place to connect for VSS? I am keeping my mechanical speedo and only using the VSS output for tuning.
I hope I have made this clear enough to understand. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

#54MG. Eight pulse signal generator for your electronic speedometer head. This goes behind your dash and plugs to the head and drives off of your old speedometer cable. Doesn't include the cables. Can be installed inline for both mechanical speedometer and pulse generator. Cost $63.00
It has been installed since 10/2003. I had the trans in my garage for about 6 months before I got around to installing it. On the back of the trans, on the drivers side, there is a black plug that has two wires coming out of it but that is only a neutral switch. If I am not mistaken the VSS is on the passengers side of the trans.

I am using the Dakota Digital "SEN-01-4160" on my t-56 that was converted to a cable speedo drive. I have it installed inline and the cable passes through to drive the speedo. I am also using HP Tuners and it works great.

Nice find. This Dakota Digital is even closer to what I need for my Keisler trans,
SEN-01-2 - 8K pulse generator with adaptor cable for Ford transmissions with cable drive speed output.
What are the prices on those units?
Do they allow for using an electric speedometer?
I'm putting an LS in my 68 vette and was going to run a mechanical tach but no VSS for the computer.
I've heard of stalling problems without VSS, so now I'm thinking I could use the adapter and run all electronic guages.

Here is a link to DD's webpage with pricing. Easy on the pocket if it works.

I have never heard of that. With HP Tuners, you can go all the way to 0 pulse in the settings. The last time I checked, EFI Live only went down to 10 pulse. Maybe that is what they were talking about.
Just wanted to bump this up again. My tremec has a speedo cable that is the ford style (I assume) at the trans end and then connects at the GM Speedometer.
I do have HP Tuners but I paid someone, Chuck CoW, to tune my car last weekend. He did an excellent job with it. There were some tables that cannot be tuned if there is no VSS.
So with the decsription above of the speedo cable, does the SEN-01-1 by Dakota Digital seem like the correct one?
