so a aluminum blcok came out of a silverado? thats odd,
i didnt think aluminum blocks would be found on other than tbss and hi end 6.2 suvs with l92 motors.
u will see more gain with a better intake manifold and a slight mill of the heads for more scr than p&p. the 5.3 will amke use of the available airflow, it doesnt really ned anymore flow,
med. size cam, ls6 intake and hi flo exhaust will make some power.

The 2004 LM4 and 2005 up LH6 5.3L in Trailblazers was aluminum as well. With AFM on the LH6

And the 07 GMT-900 truck also have an option all aluminum 5.3L. All the new ones are flat tops as well. (I believe)

My 2007 5.3L Impalla SS/Monte Carlo ss had 243s. Got the engine and trans for $500 from ebay. They are 2.0 intake and 1.55 exhaust valves.

Yes, they are. Mine had (has) 799's on it and flat tops, I'm replacing them with a set of 317's to drop compression a bit for the turbo build....anybody need them?

I think the 799's have a 66cc chamber, I heard as much as 11:1cr when they'r swapped onto a 6.0!

lots of misuse of terms on this site

243 is a 243 ... not all 243 are LS6 heads ... whatever

now apparantly 243 is a 799 ... good ole gm
