anyone have this problem?
I'm ordering a new top Monday. The window and the top coming loose is just something that will eventually happen to all our verts.

Exact same problem... annoying as hell. Me and another 'vert buddy were looking at it, and if you open the trunk, remove the panel that separates the cabin from the trunk, and feel up under that back ledge there seemed to be some screws. I'm going to investigate more but I'm hoping I can pull the top back some because that's all mine really needs.

The bows are the pieces of metal that you can feel going across the car top between the front edge and the rear window. I think there are three of them about a foot apart each. The rear bow is the last one and is about six inches above the rear window. Your canvas top has pieces of material called listings that attach to these bows and hold the top down when you are at speed. The listings on the first two bows are glued to the bows and also clamped in place by attachments from your headliner. The listing on the rear bow is stapled in place on the bow. That rear listing should keep the rear of the top from pulling too far forward. Keep in mind that the canvas top is a separate piece from the rear window curtain. The window curtain is attached to the rear bow with a vinyl piece that slides into a groove on the bottom edge of the rear bow.
You may be able to fix it if the listing is not too far gone, but chances are that if it is pulling loose like that the listing is either ripped up or rotten. If anyone wants to give it a try, post here and I will type up some instructions. Glueing the canvas to the window as suggested above may work, but it would take some mega-strong glue to last.
Btw, I am speaking about convertible fbodys. That is the only type I have any knowledge of. And I only know this because I just replaced my top on my 96 TA a couple of weeks ago, so it is still fresh in my mind.
