Effingham isn't too close to me...almost 2 hours away. I'm about 10 minutes from Taylorville, IL. Alton is probably a little closer to me then Effingham actually.

^No I wasn't at the big show in springfield this year. I believe I was in Saint Louis at the time of that show. I do want to go to the show in springfield sometime though.

Ya there was close to a 1000 cars. There was a dyno. Two runs for 70 bucks. Got dyno sheet witha picture of your car on the side. Cant beat that. Plus there where some half dressed to barely dressed women lol it was great. Lots of great old muscle cars. Not alot of rice or imports. I think they just told them to nicely gtfo.

Was it the route 66 cruise car show? I know they have tons of older cars and some newer ones in that show. I'll definitely be there and hit up the dyno at least after I build my car...for now I just have the stock 6 cylinder engine but plan on starting my build hopefully this coming summer.

Hastings, what is it like to drive the vert with a cage? I have thought about putting a 6 point in mine because I plan on adding power and I would like the car to be a little safer in the chance of an accident because it is a DD.

A cage stiffens up the car. I have a 6 point bolt in, but dont have the door bars in. I would probably have a hard time climbing over the door bars, with my bad back. My seat is all the way back against the cage, so if your taller than 5'10" it may not be too comfortable for you. You will have to either not use your tauneau cover or you can notch it for the cage. I have mine notched, but havent had it on in years. lol.

What tonneau cover? My top just folds back an I drive it that way. A stiffer car sounds good, but I'm 6'1 so that may be a bit uncomfortable. I am also probably going to put 6le seats in, so that may help.

looks like this:

covers the top when its down.

A cage in your car might be a tight fit for you. I have Trans Am seats in mine, but I am only 5'8" so its not too bad for me.

I like that cover! Mine definitely doesn't have that. I don't wanna be too uncomfortable in there because of the cage. I'll call Wolfe and ask someone there.

That cover is a stock piece that came with convertible cars. I am not sure if it was a standard piece or a special order. Wolfe make cages with a removable cross brace, and door swing outs, which I have. I dont have a need to take the cross brace out so I have the padding over it.
