Hello all,
I am the new owner of a 96 Firebird Formula. I bought it from the original owner with only 29000 miles while he was showing it to me the top opened but would not close. I have since bought it a read that the switches are the typical issue. Does anyone rebuild these?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

im not sure about your switch maybe try rock auto? one thing to check is in the trunk on the left side there is a flap that opens & a valve for my vert top hydraulics. maybe adj that & see if your top works. cheers!

Just tried Rock Auto. Thank you but no luck! I found the valve in the trunk thanks to the owners manual the next day. It was helpful putting the top back up and you can keep valve open and do it manually but its a bear. I have played with everything it appears to be the switch.

There are few on eBay at a reasonable price but they are listed as 97+ fbodies.
I'd post in the electronic/stereo section of ls1tech to find out if you can use the same switch.
