road noise with top up?
For a 'vert, mine doesn't seem too noisy - I think the double-layer top on my '99 helps.
Mainly, I hear gear noise (whine). I don't notice it when the radio is on or the top is down, but with the top up on the freeway, I definitely hear it. I was wondering if any other people have noticed this. I hope I don't have gear problems!

My 98 SS (white even!) is pretty quiet with the top up. Are you still looking for one? I'm considering selling mine. 49K, garaged, xlnt shape, black top, grey cloth int. The only reason I'm considering selling it is because I don't drive it very much these days. PM me if you're interested and we'll talk.
BTW, I've owned several conv's and the SS is the quietest with the top up (although my Cuda is the quietest with the top down and the windows up)

I found my 2001 SS loud exhaust wise, its all stock. I hear a lot of rumble inside the car with the roof up on the highway. The sound through the roof is not a problem.
I think the car had a broken transmission mount replaced between my test drive and my picking it up to buy it, I wonder if that could do it.

Thanks for the replies. I bought a white 02 SS vert in LA last week and drove it back to Texas. Had 3589 miles and still smells new. No sound issues with the top up.
Only problem with the car is that it is so smoothe at 90+ you hardly realize how fast your going... Until the cop pulls you over and tells you.
