Default pics of roll bar =)

my ex-gf's been pressuring me to get a roll bar if I want to take our 2 year old son for a ride. i picked it up last night from a dood on craigslist. its a wolfe race craft 4 pt. bolt in cromoly roll bar. apparently the dood just wanted to get it out of his garage so it was basically a steal. i'd recommend anyone installing one of these to have some wd-40 on hand. Fitting the rear bars onto the main hoop was a tight fit. i have yet to bolt the thing down onto the floor board since I wasnt provided with the bolts so I gotta make a trip to Home Depot in a little bit. Overall the install has been very easy. The hardest part so far was unwrapping all the freckn cellophane wolfe puts on the bar.- phil

Nice buy, still in the wrappers! You can also just have it welded in. Be careful when you drill the holes thru the floorboads!!

That's sharp!!
Are you going to have to custom cut your cover to fit around the bars or are you just not going to use your cover? Seems like someone would make us a cover that fits around roll bars for our cars.
Congrats!!

I believe I need a 6pt to be track legal but the price for the 4pt was too good to pass up. Besides, the main point was to keep my 2 year old protected in case we get sideswiped or something. The ex-gf doesn't care if I'm protected or not =) Perhaps Wolfe has some adapters where you can add on the two front bars maybe? Anyone know? I bolted it down in the floorboard today and it was very simple. I checked under there for fuel lines etc but nothing. I don't actually have a boot cover for it, I sold it when I got the car. It looks as though the cover may still fit without having to cut it. Perhaps others on this board would know for sure. I'm actually contemplating buying one off ebay if it will fit w/out cutting. I'll get some pics from farther out tomorrow and post em here.

Nope your gonna have to cut it. I have seen a few verts with the roll bar and they all had to do some cutting.

I would assume that you are going to put your little guy in the back seat.. You can hang some little toys off the top of the roll cage, I'm sure he will have a blast trying to catch them suckers with wind blowing around! lol

Hell, it might even get some attention with the lady's as well!

I know around here it has to be weld in to be track legal. I'm not sure if it makes a difference whether or not it is 4 or 6 point. I would still get a bolt in for mine and if they ask if it's welded I would just tell them yes. They usually don't go moving stuff to check that closely.

I don't have an NHRA book, but my recollection is it has to be a 5 pt for the track. And with a vert, bars are only good down to either 11.99 or 10.99 - then you need a full cage which imho is butt-ugly.

You should do a little browsing on the dangers caused by bars if you intend to carry passengers. Hitting your head on a bar w/o purpose-made padding can be a death sentence, even for the drivier. I head that the center bar negates the possibility of passengers because of potential harm. I'm not passing this off as gospel but hope you do your own research. Don't know if I read this stuff here or on frrax.com

My 6 pt is still in wrappers. I bought it to stiffen the chassis and make the car legal. Was hoping not to pad it, but will make that personal decsion once its in.

Dave your car is too slow to need a rollbar. You have that old antiquated Incon kit in your car. A vert and Incons will never see better than mid 11s

Are there any clearance issues when raising or lowering the top? I gotta put one in mine if I still want to play on the roadcourse from now on.

Who ahs the best deal on these, or how much should I expect to pay?
