You all honestly just need to give up because they won't make a new one now and the wing for the T's just doesn't look that great with a ragtop

that double wing looks much better than stock.

stop ragging on him. there's not much else that can be done w/o spending too much custom fab money.....for a wing.

there's a Commando spoiler that does the same....sits on top of the stock wing.

calling the car rice and other BS is stupid because stock, the TA already looks like the Batmobile....all the flares, body mouldings, and **** on a STOCK TA is already pretty RICED out by what most of you would consider rice.

especially with the ram air hood option....that double wing didn't just turned it into RICE from nothing.

how bout maybe a custom roll up 'lip' the curves with the spoiler on our verts? I was thinking of something like that.
Doesnt wingswest have something like that Im talking about? I thought I had seen one once at a t/a 'gathering' when I was in GA.

I'm still in the process of molding a hard top hatch onto a t/a. I've had a couple of different guys in the business take a look at it and in all honest just to take the wing off of a hard top was a pain in its own right. I'm going to have to fiberglass the gap (where the old window used to taper down to the wing) to the conv. top. I'm still in the midst of it, just dont know how much farther I'm going. More than likely I'm just going to put on the tonneau cover and paint them custom to achieve a little different look. I'll see if I can find some pics sometime or my work.

I actually bought one of the pieces fom wings west you're referring to.. thinking that it would fit my t/a. it did not. it wasn't quite wide enough... When I bought it I figured that it would just have to be carefully worked onto the rear deck lid (by a professional).. but I ended up installing it on a regular v6 coupe, it fit perfectly...

pretty sure the wings west site says it fits firebird convertibles.. I would assume the rear deck lids are the same..

Well please post it up cause I'm dying to see how this really looks. I've seen enough chops from expert PS'ers to deem myself not ever wanting to do this so we'll see if real life is any btter

That looks a hell of a lot better than the raised wing on top of the deck lid. Though, it still looks like it goes too far back because of the lack of a hatch. Still, a good option for vertible owners that want that raised spoiler.

this is what the red ws6 owner said about the spoiler

and here are a few in progress pics he posted

Now that's the best adaptation I've seen so far. He's definately got the right idea. However, I think he's positioned it too far back on the deck lid and the result is a slight "bend" in the line of the wing just above the rear edge of the gas cap door (in above pic) that doesn't look quite right. He probably had to do this to make the front edge of the wing line-up with the "winglets" that are mounted on the rear quarters without making that area look funny. Other than the goofy looking overhang at the rear and the slight bend in the line, it looks pretty good to me.
