m6 vert crossmember

swapping from a3-m6 and was wondering if convertibles use a different tranny crossmember than hardtops and t-tops? tried the search and came up with nothing

From what I researched, no...no difference.
Take a peek at some of the aftermarket tranny mounts and crossmembers. No designation that it will not fit verts or visa-vera. But look at the subframe connectors...there is a difference.

i called gm and they said the part numbers were different and they looked they they were different.

I'm in the middle of one right now. The crossmember itself are the same the shield brace thingy is quite a bit different, but I'm pretty sure you just use the same one as the A4 came through like the driveshaft, and tranny mount they are the same for A4 and M6.
