Default Replacing convertible top ques...

Well, my car is in need of a new convertible top. I went to the Chevy dealer to see who they recommended to do the install, I called them up and they said it would be approx. $2200.00. I would never pay this much to have a new top put on, so my question is, where is the best place to buy a new one at. If anyone has installed there's themselves, did you run into any problems. Can I get one with the rear window already attached?

I just took mine to an upholstery/vert top place and they got one and put it in with a new window for like $1000 or something close to that.

This is where I bought my new canvas top. Waiting for it to arrive and I'm going to do the install. Maybe I'm being over confident but, It doesn't look that hard.

Thats good to hear, that your impressed with it. I am gonna order the same one, probably tomorrow or first thing Monday morning. When you do your install, do you think you could post some pics of the install process? I did a search on the web and I could not find anything covering a 94-02 convertible removal and installation. I'm just hoping someone could send over a link to a site that could help me out.

That's the plan. I've no experience with this sort of thing but I think I can get it on.

**Side Note** Be sure to read the description of what you're buying because some of those tops are offered with a plastic window and some with the defroster glass. Just a heads up.

I haven't forgotton about it guys, I'm working on it, between the summer rain and taking breaks due to 95 degree heat I'll get that top on. Here's one of my progress pics removing the old canvas.

UPDATE.. Progress is going slower than expected. There is a hidden bow that anchors the top and window apron down at the rear of the cabin area, and after the first attempt the material wasn't pulled tight enough so I'm having to redo it.

Welp, OK. I'll be the first to say that if you have no prior experience in top installation then it's probably best to take it to a pro. I have tried... Dont like the results... And probably will end up buying another top and have it installed to look the way it supposed to. Hmmph.

So, why would you have to buy another top? Did the first one get messed up during the installation?
