Default How to properly lower and Raise top?

Please forgive my n00bie-ness. My name is Sam, I am 17 years old and I have been in love with Third Gens for the past few years. I sold my 92 Camaro Rs a few weeks ago and I just picked up a 95 T/A 'Vert for a deal I couldnt pass up. I'm fairly new to the 4th gen world. I know enough to get by...

However, I just want to know how to properly lower and raise the top. Lowering it is pretty straight forward to me. I just open the latches and press the button and its down. However, I am having problems bringing it up. When I push the button to bring it up, it just goes up a little and gets stuck. I have to end up Pulling on the top as I am raising it. Then when it's up half way I have to manually finish the process. Something tells me thats abnormal... What may be the problem?

Thanks,
Sam

Check the fluid level first, probably just low and as a result you got some air in the lines. Bring it up to level, cycle it a few times (that's all you do to "bleed" it of air), then recheck / add fluid as required.

lol, The car is too much comb for me. I might end up selling the car to my dad and go out and get back in a Third Gen.

On another note, I'm assuming to properly bring the top up, you just push the button and it comes up then latch it, right?

Not mine... on my 96 I have to raise my hand up and make sure my flip rod isnt in the way, it was in 2 pieces when i got the car and it sometimes gets in the way, it snapped right at the little circle in the rod. and when i lower the top i have to make sure the 2nd bow is back enough to sit flat.

anyone know where to get a flip rod from?

they must break a lot cause my 91 rs vert has 2 missing

So I went and bought a quart of Hydraulic fluid. I added some, then put the top up and down a few times and kept filling it. Is there a mark where I should have the fliud? I filled the fluid until the top mark. Is that alright?

Oh and another thing, after I put fluid in, I noticed there was a fluid leak behind the left rear wheel. Im hoping that's the fluid I spilled.

Thanks!

Sounds like what it might be... Keep an eye on the level from time to time to be sure.

I came back home a hour ago and rechecked the fliud level, it's the same level I left it. I'm relieved. Thanks!
