What holds the front two bolts?
Nuts?
Two small threaded plates?
One big plate with two threads?

Is it stiffer in the corners? Does the car squeak with the top up? Gimme the full review!

Hello, we supply (1) bar nut for each side. The bar nut is 3/8" thick and has threaded holes. So one plate with (2) threaded holes.

Hope that helps!

Ryan,
When will you have pictures of the weld in SFCs for the LT1 Convertible?
Thanks,
Steve

I installed mine last week along w/ new LCA's. I already had a UMI strut tower brace. First off, UMI is great. Packing was excellent, e-mails answered quickly and awesome build quality.

The install was easy - just have some PB blast w/ you for the LCA bolts.

The car definitely feels stiffer now...almost tank-like. It does seem that the top squeaks and flexes more now though, but it could just be the fact that I can finally hear it now that the body isn't doing it over every bump and pothole. It's either that or the fact that the body is now stiff, so the top is the only thing that can shake/flex. Kinda like a bimini top on a boat. The boat is sturdy, but when you hit a wave, that top shakes and moves around like crazy. That's an obvious exaggeration, but same principle. I just notice more squeaks and groans - that's all. Keep in mind I also have the strut tower brace.

Overall, I'm very happy w/ the purchase and will be ordering a new panhard bar very soon to round out my suspension. My traction and launching seem greatly improved and the car feels solid through turns although I really need to get some Bilsteins under it (canceled my order after waiting on backorder for 2 months).

I still don't understand how those bars work
They are connected at only two points of the body, so they don't help eliminating flexion, otherwise they would need at least another connection in the middle.
They arent even crossed connected (driver to passanger side).
So I can imagine that they "keep the front and the rear together"

Who can explain me what they exactly do?

Thanks!

Stefano

Hello Steve,

They are completed but we haven't taken pictures yet. They are the same as the bolt-on's but feature (2) more plates per SFC equally spaced, this add's additinal welding areas. They are priced at $169.99 a set. If you are interested before we get the pictures up let me know via e-mail, phone or PM

Thanks!
Ryan

The floor pan and subframe are welded together. You are preventing front and rear twist with theses points. It strengthens those points because the SFC will not twist.

That takes some very custom stuff and adds a lot of weight if you start adding cross bars underneath the car. That is more of an issue if you have a ton of torque. Adding a STB and a DSL can help with side to support.
