Whassup with bolted SFCs vs Welded? Can I use your bolt ons and run a bead around the front mounts? Do the bolteds wiggle loose if I don't weld them? My daily is a '98 Z28 vert and it has a little bit of shakin goin on. I am lookin' forward to installin' em so appreciate your comments.

We have never had any trouble with bolts coming loose on the bolt on SFC's. Although we haven't had these out very long they use the same hardware as our hardtop SFC's that have been out for years. The bolt in's can be welded at anytime. Most people purchase the bolt in's so they can install them thereselfs and have them welded at a later date. If the vehicle is agressively raced we recommend to have weld in's.
If I can help anymore please ask.
Thank you!

I put in my sfc and my lca's all went in perfect. It was the easiest install i think i have ever done . Everything matched perfect. The car has a much better ride with these in. If you dont have access to a welder these are the way to go .

Just a note about UMI guys. Their parts and staff are the greatest. I have already installed lca's and a their panhard bar, both rod ended. The install, quality, fit, and shine have been second to none. I have been so impressed by thier stuff that I already ordered a road race k-member, which is sitting in the garage waiting for install, and I will be ordering some lower A-arms next week. As far as all my suspension goes, UMI has my business.
When I buy stuff for my car, there are two thing I look for. Parts that will perform, but look awsome for shows. My car is becomming more show than go, but at track days, its a blast to drive. UMI has been able to deliver both.
Thanks UMI!! So guys, I am sure their sfc's will be the best our verts can get. Their 3-point sfc's should be something. To bad I already have dd's welded in.

Umi Bolt On Vert Sfcs Done!!!
Time to block up car, all 4 corners: 30-45 mins max
Time to install both SFC'S, start to finish: 25-45 mins MAX
I have to say, the hardest part of this install is to block/jack up the car at all 4 corners, unbolt the rear front lower control arm bolts and remove, the rest is a piece of cake and my install was done by myself, no help, with two rhino ramps, two jack stands, a floor jack and some 2x4 blocks of wood, the other main item that is a must for this job is a 19mm racheting wrench, a big help, imho. YMMV
Good Job UMI!!!
PLEASE EXCUSE MY DIRTY UNDERCARRIAGE!

Are SFC's the 1st thingto do to stiffen up a convertible?
What else can I do?
UMI Performance: your SFC's are fixed by two points to the body (front and rear).
Other brands have 3 or 4 connection points.
Are there advantages / disadvantages? Or it really doesen't matter?
Is there a real difference between bolted and welded SFC's?
I prefer not to weld stuff under my car...
Thanks - Stefano

My SFCs were the first mod I made to my car. I have no experience with bolt ins as I had mine welded at a race shop. The second mod I would recommend is a 3 point strut tower brace which really tightened up the front end of the car.

They (UMI) are making some 3 pointers soon, stay tuned, YMMV.
