Default New To The Convertible Crowd

Well, yesterday I just traded my cammed '99 Trans Am M6 for a bone stock '98 Trans Am A4 convertible. It's a fun car, it just needs a few things done and a little TLC. I took this pic on the way home (I gotta do a little BFH mod this week to get the 17x11s to fit).

Well congrats. I love my vert. A few tips, buy the "Ragg Top" cleaner and protectant. Grab a bores hair brush for the top aswel. Dont put car soap on it when you wash the car, and make sure you cover the windows and paint when you spray that protectant on there. Also make sure you keep an eye on the fluid for your motor too. Verts are fun, but they require a bit more maintenance.

Thanks for the info! I'll look into getting some of the "Ragg Top" stuff. I'm going to change all fluids ASAP just for peace of mind and do a lot of scrubbing... she's dirty

When I had the ZR1s on my '99 I had to do some BFH and I did a little on this car just to be sure. Also, I removed the bump stops and cut off part of the brackets. Your wheels probably have a little different offset, I wish I didn't have to do the BFH, but oh well.

I thought my Fikse were going to be tight, but I have plenty of clearance on the inside. The only thing i'm worried about is rubbing the quarters when I lower it.

hmm, you guys are much more **** than me i guess. i've been sending mine through automatic carwashes (every 10-12 days) for the past 7 years with no problemo. it sprays wax and blows a ton of air to dry it also.

not sure if the 1st owner did that for the first 3 years. top is fine. rear window is fine. etc.

I had to roll my passenger side quarter when I lowered with my Fikses.

I bring mine to a machine-free wash. It sprays soap, then water, then air dry, but all the scrubbing is done by hand. Looked great and top looks fine.

i heard that these pressure washers drives the dirt and/or sand deep into the paint. i'm not sure though. i go to ones that are not the brush kind.
