Window Rattle on Bumps when UP
. LCA bushings, window motors, window rattles, etc, etc.. Geeez, didn't GM learn anything as time passed??Anyway - I had this problem in my '96 vert and I have it again in the 2000 - only worse here. How many of you guys get a rattle from the window(s) when you go over harsh bumps. I'm not talking about when the window is down - I mean when it is UP. It almost seems as if it is either smacking against the convertible top frame or maybe its rattling on the window up stops inside the door. Just letting the window drop a fraction of an inch cures it. It sounds the same as taking a piece of metal and tapping on the glass.
Anyone diagnose or cure this?
Without that - I can't adjust anything. I'm trying to figure out how to even diagnose it. Dropping the window a hare solves it - but that doesn't gain me anything.
Have any of you guys had your car since it was new? Did it do that on day 1?

On the top of both doors there are two window "snubbers" or whatever you want to call them, they are held in place with a bolt and rest against the glass with felt pads, over time they brake off and the metal from the bracket hits the glass (and even scratches it! and tint!!) they are super cheap and very easy to overlook. If you need pics, let me know, I have some...good luck.
PS-From this effort I learned this: never close your door by pushing on the door glass, always push on the door it self....you would be surprised how many times we do this too!

It seem though, that when the window is up something else gets involved. I think if it was the pads, dropping the window just a tad would not help. Maybe I'm wrong.
What drives me nuts is I can't duplicate the noise by hand - the window seems very secure no matter what I check.

I can't accept that. I have been pretty successful at knocking out almost every noise in my last two cars - one at a time. It bothers me cause it isn't buried in the dash - its right there
. I just can't figure out what on earth is doing it.I guess I'm too crazy about stuff like this.
I miss a lot of radio time driving and listening to noises trying to figure out the cause.
