The Hinson kit looks Nice! I remember when Cerra sold that kit! BlackSun and Z06Gman on their cars and they ran well! I wasn't very impressed with the log manifolds, but they worked!

Earl H had one too that he reworked with a T76 turbo that put down over 700 rwhp! They can make some BIG powa!

Here's a site with some Cerra pics! Thanks Jake!

Jake Latham's turbo site..............
Thanks

Tony...
The Hinson kit appears to be a refined/tweaked copy of the Cerra-the differences seem to be minor-maybe check with Brian.

Brian,
What type of filter set up it going to be on the Hinson kit? I'm not really feeling the old Cerra kit dryer duct.

I think with the rad in the stock location an HKS mushroom style will fit directly to the front of the turbo...i'll let you know within about a month.

you have to notch the hood when you go to a T76 or larger

Why can't the piping be lowered.

I don't want to notch my hood. Also that can be good to have the turbo that close to the hood with all of that heat.

It would be smarter to lower the radiator in my opinion.

you can lower the piping but then you will need a new downpipe. among other things...
your only clearancing the hood for the compressor side. the turbine housing doesnt come that close to the hood but it doesnt realy matter because you would normally put a blanket over it.
the placement of the turbo causes clearance issues if you wanted to go bigger as well as the 3inch downpipe which limits turbo selections to the highest is T78 or the 78GTS. the next turbos inline get a big bigger in dimensional size and all require a much bigger downpipe such a a 3.5 or 4inch downpipe which then by the looks of some pics i have would be a bit of a squeeze to make it work. although i have been assured i will be able to get 800-900 hp to the wheels with the setup as it is already with a 78GTS. rest assured i will find the limits of this kit and put it to the test

I have a LS3 Forged 416 CI motor. I'm not sure what size turbo I'll need to get the big numbers, but I would like 900 RWHP in high and 650 RWHP or so in low boost.

I have coil overs so that will help a little with piping size. I'll need to do some research before I can tell what turbo to go with .

I have L92 Heads and LS3 intake with 90MM TB and Dr Phil turbo cam. Compression is 8.9 to 1.

I wonder what size turbo will get me into the 850 - 900 range ?
