Default any single turbo 2000-20004 vettes-got a question

im running an LS motor in an A body car, and using a 2000-20004 vette front drive setup, and procharger-i have been toying around with trying a turbo, and would like to keep the vette acces. drive setup(i would have to add the orig idler and sta. pulley) i think i could mount the turbo on the pass side, getting a pipe around the alt on the d/s might be a little tricky because of the alt-i would like to use some cast iron manifolds if i could
curious what your setup might look like-thanks
using twins is also an idea, but want to keep my 3" intercooler, i suppose i could use a 2 into one setup
are you guys using your orig acces drive

^ dont see alot of their kits out there, or at least pictures posted online.
they look like insanely nice kits though, and i know they know their stuff in the ls1/rx7 market obviously.

another one to look at is the Cerra single turbo kits. they are out of business i'm pretty sure, and hinson either bought their design or is very similar i think ive read before.

True....same kits. You can upgrade to a T76..which fits underneath the hood with just a tad bit of notching of the hood. The idea is a B&B driverside header, instead of the stock design...and the hinson/cerra kit.

They were making 700 and change on a C5 with a 400ci motor with an air to air, and 12psi I believe possibly more or less.

Have you thought about the front mount f-body kits that use truck manifolds installed backwards?

Lots of durability in the manifolds, and the install is a little more simplified...

Here's a picture from Ohio Forced Inductions... he fabricates his monifolds...

Chopperloco-whos kit is that-it looks like it would fit pretty good-im guessing it uses your stock d/s manifold, pipe goes underneath to the p/s(kind of like the old style years ago) does it take a t4 mounting
thanks

The set-up in the first pic. is the Cerra(no longer produced). The Hinson Super Cars kit(the one in the car)is a refined version of the Cerra-both use a stock drivers side exhaust manifold-though i'm going to use a B&B stainless shortie instead.I'm only using the hot side of the Hinson Kit(all stainless-about $2600) and doing my own air to air.It is T4 flanged...

I have the last design Cerra kit on my 2000 C5.I clearanced the hood for a 62-2 and now after putting on a T70 the hood is sticking up about 3/4" on the passenger side.I havn't had time to check to see if it needs a little more massaging to bring the hood down.Hope so.Big increase in power. Can't wait to try a 76.
Take care.

Got some pictures of your set-up ?

Would like to see some of it as I am thinking of installing this system in my 2001 Custom Widebody FRC.

Thanks.

I have done a search over there and on google, etc ......

I really would like to see the piping and the exhaust routing.

Anymore info on system set-up. Block Size, Boost, HP/TQ numbers ?

I bought a 416 Forged motor and want to go to about 650 RWHP.

Thanks

I can't upload pics so if someone has an email that knows how to post these pics I could send them out.Motor is a stock LS1 at 10#s the car went 120 mph in the 1/4 first time down with a 62-2.I have since added a T70 and the car feels like it picked up at least 80 HP at 8#s.It's a nice setup.Only mod I had to do was give #1 plug more clearance on the header.Hood ribbing had to be cut to clear compresser housing.60# injecters with Walpro pump and 3" down pipe into stock exhaust.Yank 3600 converter. The car will rips nitto DRs from a roll in 1st gear. This winter I plan on relocating the turbo flange on the header and run a pipe across the front to under the alternater and mount a PT88.I'll also be adding a 370 or 408 motor to finish things off.
Take care.

I can post for you, send pics to ajg5@aol.com

I'm planning on installing a forged 416 myself. Looking for best way to mount the turbo without cutting up the car or hood.

Not sure what size turbo to use yet. Already have the 60# injectors, just need fuel upgrades. Drive line is all built up and ready to go.

Would like to see pictures of your build when you get it done.

Thanks.

We're not a supporting vendor yet, so I am trying to play by the rules with this post. We are about to join corvetteforum.com. Maybe the moderators can let this slide.

We are updating our website with more information on this kit, so let us know if we can help in any way. Give us about a week to ten days for the additional content to show up.

Thanks.

That would be SICK on your car Tony!

The Hinson kit looks Nice! I remember when Cerra sold that kit! BlackSun and Z06Gman on their cars and they ran well! I wasn't very impressed with the log manifolds, but they worked!

Earl H had one too that he reworked with a T76 turbo that put down over 700 rwhp! They can make some BIG powa!

Here's a site with some Cerra pics! Thanks Jake!
