I have a 2001 Z06 and im ordering the tsp lts, when they get off backorder, a fm13/112lsa, ud pulley, 918s, p.rods, oz700.. and would like to get some heads a little cheaper that $2,000. I was looking on Texas-Speed and saw the PRC LS6 stage 1 heads, specs flowed better on bottom and top over the afr at half the price. I was wondering if anyone has ever used the heads and wondered how much better (whp) would they benefit over the stock LS6 heads. I would be happy if i saw 20-30whp from them. Shooting for 420whp with the cam - the heads and 450whp+ with the heads. It seems tsp is a pretty reputable site and didnt take it that they would sell junk is why i was wondering.

PRC's are good budget heads. I would say with a cam and those heads, you will see maybe 15-20rwhp tops over the heads you have on the car now. If you're gonna put new heads on a Z06, get Trick Flows or don't even bother. Now if it was a base C5, I would say go with the PRC's no questions asked.

I had talked to a guy at TSP. He said those stage 1 heads are the 243 headslike on the Z06's but they are just ported, polished and had a 5 way angle valve job done to them. I have looked into one place that will do the same machine work to those heads, cfmperformance, and they wanted about the same as buying the complete heads from TSP. I looked around and found a great machine shop that will do that to my heads for a 1/4 of that price and will get them on a flow bench.

I say if you have the money get those heads.

btw TSP are great to deal with. Bought all the stuff for my cam swap from them.
