getting a C5! need tips
Also the wheels on that '97 are Magnesium and not original. They are also notorious for cracking. i have a nice set of stock wagon wheels you can buy for $500
kidding about the wagon wheels I've driven hundreds of C5's while working at a Corvette-only dealership ('53 ~ New) and the things I could tell you would fill a book in regards to condition/costs.
Don't buy a cheapo car..... and that black one you linked does have Magnesium wheels (3k option at the time) but they are prone to chipping. Looking at that car in detail on the pictures (they each speak) tells me to RUN away. I wouldn't buy that car for 5k guessing at what it will need as a driver (it will cost well over 10k in repairs during a few years of ownership)
Trust me, look into my first paragraph. If you can't get a nice/fresh condition (I'm the 5th owner of my '01 Zo6 but it was flawless) Corvette then don't get one at all.
You'll sell everything you own otherwise just to keep it on the road.

what sort of repairs? what is it about the picrures of that vehicle that told you to run?
51k miles, with HRE wheels ($5k+) and a Corsa catback ($1k+) not to mention the rest of the condition (bright climate control, good leather, etc) for only $13.5?
Jump on that one buddy! You could part out those wheels and still be way ahead. I just have to say that it's a steal!
There was a revision in pumps and more insulation in the paseenger compartment bulkhead for '99 to ease customer complaints.
I've heard a '98 'vert that had a VERY noisy fuel pump.... a constant whining that wouldn't go away.
