*Unofficial* Retirement - TT 427
Recently, i heard from a friend who works for the owner of the F/A-18 Blue Angel "killing" TT 427 that the car has been "put to pasture"
Altho its still got more then the 725bhp package deal (best dyno run was over 900rwhp, but has since been detuned to around 824rwhp) the car isnt as insane as it could've been, but is still pretty wicked. (best run of 8.95 @ 157)
If i hear of any more details i'll send 'em as i hear 'em. It sucks John wasnt around to see the car do as much as it did, but we know his presence was w/ the car throughout.
Just thought everyone would like to hear of that...

Dont thinnk he sold it...but they did de-tune it. Supposedly, it blew something around the turbo...like the housing, or a major oil line or something, so Im guessing LPE and him decided that it was "better" to just detune it. I'll ask my friend next time i hear from him

Not that ive seen...LPEs latest update was from like April or so. John's got the HALO off, and his vertebre have fused properly w/o surgury, so hopefully we can NOW hope for a somewhat full recovery.

Ok, talked w/ my friend, and he HAS NOT sold the TT 427. That was one reason he de-tuned it to the 800+rwhp range so he could make it more "driver friendly" on the street. (if you can call an 800+rwhp car driver friendly lol)

saw one for sale, an '02, in a recent issue of autoweek magazine, oct 13 issue I believe. someone in florida that only put like 3700 miles on the clock. prolly scared the hell out of 'em.
they were asking something like 145k for it.
if only I had the $$$$$$$$$.....
