I noticed alot of the Corvette guys over on the Corvette forum, run the Braile Batteries. They even make a lightweight one made of Carbon Fiber. They mostly do it for the weight savings. I do not know how good they perform.

I don't drive mine very much - it's a 99 and I just passed 20k miles. Lately it's been having a tough time starting if I leave it sitting for a week.

I run the Optima Red and Yellow deep cycle in all my cars and trucks. Never had a failure. I run the Oddessy batteries in my choppers and rice rockets because they don't leak acid all over the place. 'Course the same could be said of the Optima.

Yellow top has a 1 year replacement warranty, compared to the red top which has a 3 year replacement. I suggest the red top and buy a battery tender.

Interstate in my Truck but AcDelco in the Vette. AcDelco's are great batteries so i don't understand the hate. I had a 7 year old AcDelco in my truck and it took a -40* morning to finally kill it. It started fine the day before at -25* but the next day after sitting about 20 hours it was TOAST. Froze solid. Pulled it out, slow charged and tested and it was crap. Put in an Interstate and good to go

The yellow tops are a deep cycle battery designed to be discharged and recharged from dead multiple times. Thier use is primarily marine. But will work great with a car with a large stereo sytem, a lot of electrical accessories, and a charging system that ain't up to it...i.e. a drag car.
The red top, in comparison is a battery designed for use in an automobile. It was designed with vehicle that has a good charging system that is up to balancing the system out in mind.

Odyssey, but they are heavy.

42 lbs!

I like the 12 year lifespan though.

well, the comparable Yellow Top Optima is 37.8 lbs, 4.2 lbs isnt that big of a deal in my opinion.

Personally Ill never buy another Optima again. They are crap and have been since late 2002. Ive had 2 red tops crap out on me in my Typhoon in just over a year for each. Each was prorated thankfully, Im done with the headaches and Ive moved onto Odyssey which is a much better product.

Many Syclone and Typhoon owners run a single Odyssey PC680 with no problems and the guys who have moderate stereos wire two PC680's in parallel. Each one is 15.4 lbs.
