Thanks buddy. No, I wouldn't do that. I felt bad when I saw that happen. You have a good memory, I did run another Vette and got him another sec in the 1/4. lol Congrats on the new times, hope I get there soon.

How about a stock '09 ZR1? It is my fathers and he is retired, so not really driven every day but he does drive it alot.

The 10sec runs driven by Ranger (notice the soft launchs)

My street tire run (notice I got a little better 60' than the DR runs)

I drive my car 7 days a week unfortunatly, but it runs like a champ. I need to get a DD but Id rather put money into the Z..

01 Z06
Built Bottom end
Patriot STG 2 Heads
blower cam
Vortec YSi blower at 16lbs

Best to date is a 10.6 @ 137 on a horrible 1.9x 60ft. That was done on the stock 18's with drag radials spinning all 1st and 2nd. Finally hooking in 3rd. Just bought my 16" MT's and getting ready to buy some meth. I want a mid 9sec daily driven C5Z

Ha,Sorry,I will let you know when its in the nines ! 12.5 psi or thereabouts.I got in trouble for my mph and was trying to slow it down by dropping 1/2 lb each run.10.38 was run #3 for the night ?? Gonna be a couple weeks now as I have to put the front bar in and get it signed off,I think they really want me to slow down ! Cant wait to see what it runs all out at 20psi with the Meth, long as I dont miss a shift !

I'm hoping with my setup I can hit high 10's. What do you guys think, would I have to run drag radials to hit high 10's?

Without some good tires,I think its going to be difficult.

That's Joe C's Cartek heads and cam LS3 (currently the quickest in that category) and he's using an otherwise stock rear with 3.90 gears and hardened output shafts.

Most people don't daily drive on a tire soft enough to hook up for a 10 second run. With that being said, if you run a different tire on the street then what you run at the track, is it really a 10 second daily driver ?

I am going to say, technically,no. Unless it will pull 10s on the tires you drive on it.Now,that said,I have driven to/from the track with my race tires(dont like it)and they ARE ,DOT not true slicks.I dont know but suspect it would be about 6/10th slower on DRs which I would still not regularly daily drive. Now I do have buddies(several) that drive year round on slicks and skinnies, evrywhere(well except snow days) But they dont run 10s ! It is what it is,I know Ranger has pulled off some good times and perhaps the east coast guys on a well prepped track with DRs are probably comfortably in the 10s,take your pick. I do know,I can jump in my car tomorrow, drive down to vegas,in comfort, getting 24mpg,then stick the CCWs on it and click off 10s . Good enough for me.

Well put.

I run E.T. Streets at the track for maximum traction and consistency, but I know my car will still go 10's on my drag radials that I use for everyday.

All the rocks I hear hitting the rear plastic wheel-housings tells me mine is. I have no idea how many windshields I may or may not be resposible for, but u don't tailgate someone who is already speeding
